The target's stat changes don't affect this attack's damage. Critical hits land more easily. This lowers their Attack stats. This may also leave the target with a burn. This may also leave the target with paralysis. This may also make the target flinch. This may also make the target flinch or leave it with a burn. However, this also sharply raises the target's Attack stat.

The user then becomes confused. This also damages the user quite a lot. This attack may leave the target with a burn. TM01 Mega Kick 75 5 -- The target is attacked by a kick launched with muscle-packed power. TM02 Pay Day 40 20 -- Numerous coins are hurled at the target to inflict damage.

Money is earned after the battle. TM03 Fire Punch 75 15 10 The target is punched with a fiery fist. TM05 Thunder Punch 75 15 10 The target is punched with an electrified fist. TM08 Hyper Beam 90 5 -- The target is attacked with a powerful beam. The user can't move on the next turn. TM09 Giga Impact 90 5 -- The user charges at the target using every bit of its power. While not impressive, it has the highest Base HP out of all of them at 95and the second highest Base Attack atafter Flareon.

Its bulk is not spectacular, but still very much respectable amongst Fire Types, with a flat 90 for both Base Defense and Special Defense.

It is neither fast enough to really benefit from Tailwind and Icy Wind, nor is it slow enough to utilize Trick Room properly. When compared to the current top dog pun intended for Fire Types, Arcanine, Incineroar loses out only in terms of Speed, and the capability to hit from the Special spectrum. Unfortunately, while Incineroar gets Intimidate as its Hidden Ability, it is currently unreleased. Furthermore, Incineroar is still able to function without Intimidate.

Earthquake is usually the better coverage option so that Incineroar can better handle opposing Arcanine. The first is a shoddy way for Incineroar to regain some health to make up for the inability to Protect.

Lastly, Revenge can take advantage of the fact that Incineroar is usually going to move last anyways, to land a Base Power Fighting Type move. Incineroar, while having the potential to be suitably bulky, still detests taking a Super Effective hit. What is better than one Fake Out user? Two Fake Out users. The power to immobilize an opponent for 1 turn can often turn the tide of the battle. This is where Milotic comes in handy. Competitive discourages opponents from haphazardly leading or switching in an Intimidate user like Arcanine.

Milotic is also a decent answer to Garchomp, especially if the latter is not running the Assault Vest or Yache Berry. Like Tapu Fini, there is not much Incineroar can do against Garchomp. Read on for tips on the best Nature, EV spreads, Movesets, and Held Items to use with Incineroar, as well as its strengths and weak points.

List of Contents. What is Type Effectiveness? What are Natures? By raising its Special Defense with Assault Vest, this build can hold its own against both Physical and Special attackers. Against Physical attackers, its Ability Intimidate plays a vital role of decreasing the opponent's Attack. Also, this build makes Incineroar viable against Dragapult. As Incineroar can't be Burned, it has no fear of being weakened by Will-o-Wisp.

With Fake Out, it can greet its opponents with flinching, and when it seems like the opponent will switch in something advantageous against Incineroar, use Parting Shot on the new foe to disadvantage it.

Intimidate lets it survive Physical attackers' moves and set up against them. When a Special attacker gets switched in against it, Dynamax up and weather attacks while dishing out powerful moves of your own. With a wide movepool, Incineroar can change roles to handle its opponent. Its Ability Intimidate gives it a strong base for handling a variety of Physical attackers, and it can usually come out victorious in a straight-up punch-out.

It's also able to use U-turn, allowing it to first lower its opponent's Attack with Intimidate, then switch out, leaving its follow-up teammate with an advantage.

With Mimikyu and Dragapulttwo Ghost types, as top threats in the current metagame, Incineroar's Dark typing makes it formidable against teams using these Pokemon.

This combines with Intimidate to make it a highly useful counter for these both these Physical attackers. While Incineroar can hit hard, some defensive Pokemon with a type advantage can completely absorb its attacks. In particular, Pokemon with HP recovery moves who can use super-effective attacks are recommended. Intimidate kicks in on the turn Incineroar switches in, so after Incineroar faints one of your Pokemon, the next Pokemon to switch in will be immune to its effects.

In particular, Pokemon with the Flash Fire Ability can take Incineroar's attacks and use their advantage to set up. Fire-types are best when they can bring something other than their typing to the table, thankfully for Incineroar, it brings quite a lot.

Arguably the most important move on Incineroar, with only Salazzle and Infernape being the other Fire-types having access to Fake Out. Incineroar also has the added bonus of having a decent matchup against Tapu Lele, who plagues other Fake Out users like Scrafty.

An underappreciated Dark-type option, Throat Chop has comparable power to Darkest Lariat, but allows Incineroar to prevent its target from using sound-based moves for two turns after being hit. Especially effective against the likes of Snorlax, Tyranitar, and Mega Kangaskhan.

This set provides a good mix of bulk and offense. The speed is mainly to try to creep things like Celesteela, Aegislash, and Gothitelle. This Incineroar is significantly bulkier, as such defensive calcs took precedence over offensive calcs.

Incineroar Ultra Sun and Moon Competitive Smogon OU Moveset Preview

Knock Off is slightly preferable because raw damage is not the priority of this set. It is notable that Fake Out excels at stopping opposing Tailwinds from being set up because most Tailwind setters are not grounded and therefore can still be Faked Out while in Psychic Terrain. While still a little slow, Incineroar usually has enough speed to outspeed a number of threats in Tailwind and help provide offensive pressure to get the most out of the Tailwind turns.

Below are just some ideas you can use as a starting point if you know you want to use Incineroar. Incineroar is able to help set Tailwind from Zapdos or Trick Room from Gardevoir in order to get speed control as well as help Tapu Fini set up. The Fake Out pressure can afford Aegislash or Landorus that chance it may need to remove a threat like Charizard that might naturally outspeed them.

Tyranitar does need to watch out for a potential Low Kick, however. So, Incineroar can sparingly be brought to rain matchups to deal with these threats, stall rain turns with Fake Out, and provide damage when possible with Dark-type attacks.

While Mega Charizard-Y might be the best Fire-type to bring to a rain matchup, Incineroar is not the worst. The future looks pretty bright for Incineroar, all things considered. By the time its Dream World Ability gets released, it might give Landorus-T a run for its money as the premier Intimidator. Your email address will not be published. Last edited: Apr 3, Low Kick and Snarl deserve mentions here too. I don't think U-turn should be slashed on simply because it isn't common enough it has less usage than Cross Chop. I also think a bulky berry set should be mentioned since it's seen a decent amount of success.

This is ready for QC. That said, I'll add a more defensive set if QC thinks I should also, feeling like Figy Mago Berry may be worthy of a slash rather than just a mere mention on the set that's already here. Last edited: Feb 9, Jio God is Good. VGC Co-Leader. Solid write up! As you may have heard, Intimidate Incineroar has been released. I am removing all mentions of Blaze accordingly. Darkmalice Level 3. Darkmalice said:. More points: Maybe mention U-turn somewhere as an option for the fourth slot.

People have been hyping the combination of Fake Out, Intimidate, and U-turn on Incineroar for over a year. Unsure if this is just set comments worthy or actually worthy for the slot since it literally came out yesterday. Charlotte Show me something eternal. There are only a few changes I would make. Kommo-o needs Protect. I think that while Kommo-o has the potential to be a great spread attacker on any team it can't take a hit from Fairy types, even after the boost.

Tapu Fini takes neutral damage from Steel-type moves, meaning there's a slim chance of even Metagross covering Fairy types. Double Z-Crystals is a huge impediment for your team. If you have Tapu Bulu and Kommo-o on the same team, you lose a ton of offensive presence. In my opinion, giving Tapu Bulu Leftovers or a recovery Berry to increase his longevity is the best option.

One thing for sure, you need to keep Tapu Bulu on your team due to your glaring weakness to Earthquake. If you want to get a little creative you can slap on a Grassy Seed to up your defense and invest into Special Defense, but I haven't tested the effectiveness of such. I think that Gastrodon has the ability to be replaced by a milotic if you see it fit, but honestly gastrodon is pretty good on this team. If speed control is an issue though, Porygon 2 has great coverage moves and very good bulk.

Also Alolan-Muk is always available for poison support. In conclusion, I think that these very minor changes can make your team a top threat :D very very good. SlickL said:.
